Rules
Baccarat is a comparing card game played between two hands, the “Player” and the “Banker”.
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards, which the supervisor shuffles at regular intervals. Each card deck
has 52 cards without jokers. The shuffle card cuts the deck approximately in half. After reaching the shuffle
card, the dealer switches to a new shoe.
Each Baccarat hand has three possible outcomes: “Player”, “Banker”, and “Tie”.
The player places a bet on which of the two hands will be the closest to 9 or if they will end up in a Tie. The
dealer deals four cards, one to “Player” and a second to “Banker” and then again one to “Player” and one
to “Banker”. All of the cards are dealt face up.
If the value of either hand is a natural 8 or a natural 9 (a natural=value of the first 2 cards) the hand is
complete and no further cards are dealt. The highest possible hand value in Baccarat is a natural 9. If the
hands’ values are equal the round ends in a Tie.
Burn | After a new shoe the dealer draws 1 card. Based on the card value, a number of cards is burnt. J,Q,K cards have a value of 10 and A = 1 |
Dealer Mistake | The dealer burns two cards. |
The hand’s value is calculated as the total of cards’ values.
Cards’ point values:
Tens and face cards = 0
Ace Card = 1
2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 = face value
If the total of the hand is over 10, only the last digit is taken into account (i.e. 13 = 3, 11 = 1)
A third card may or may not be dealt to either the player or the banker depending on the following rules:
If either the player or the banker has a total of 8 or 9 they both stand.
If the player’s total is 5 or less, then the player hits, otherwise the player stands.
If the player stands, then the banker hits on a total of 5 or less. If the player does hit, then use the chart on the right to determine if the banker hits (H) or stands (S):
If either the player or the banker has a total of 8 If the player’s total is 5 or less, then the player If the player stands, then the banker hits on a |

If you place the Dragon and Tiger side bet and the banker’s and player’s first card are the same,
then 50% of the original bet is returned.
The player should remember that Ace has the lowest value while King has the highest value.
If the game ends in a Tie, the results of side bets are not affected.
